Bobby & Marga

Crowne Plaza and Christ the King Church
with Dominic Barrios

Last wedding of 2008! Marga is a teacher and Bobby works as a photographer in LA… no pressure there.. LoL :D In the bridal suite, it was a riot! There were people everywhere. :) On the other hand, there were only 3 people in Bobby’s room. Winner! :D One of his friends flew all the way from the US and arrived in Manila not knowing anyone and having no clue where to go. Luckily, he was able to arrive in the hotel that day. Back to the bridal suite, everyone wanted to have their picture taken with Marga. You could really sense the closeness of their family, especially when her sisters helped her dress up.

Since New Year was just around the corner, everyone was in a party mode during the reception. The guests really stayed till the end of the program.. and even after that they still spent a lot of time celebrating Bobby and Marga’s special day :)

Mark & Elza

Hotel Sofitel, Manila Cathedral and One Esplanade
with John Mateos Ong & Mike Tan

It’s always a blast shooting a “San Miguel Wedding!” No, it’s not because of the free booze I get afterward, but it’s because I get to see a lot of familiar faces… kayo naman oh! hehehe :D and the fact that they’re always a crazy bunch of people (that’s a compliment, mind you)

Preps pa lang there were already cans of beer ready to be disposed of.. and trust the groomsmen to do just that while waiting for their turn in the pictorial. First time to have a Best Woman help the groom dress up. Good job Mic! :D It was also my first time to do a Cathedral wedding… Given all the rules you had to follow, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be..

Sir Jong assigned me to the reception while he did the in-betweens so I had a lot of time going around and taking pictures of people. The song that would best describe that moment would be R.E.M.’s Shiny Happy People.. LoL! :D It was definitely the most colorful reception I’ve been to. And living up to the San Miguel reputation, it was super laid back. Guests were actually required to be in their Flip Flops! Nice! :D

Ninoy & Cherry

Astoria Hotel, Christ the King and Green Meadows Clubhouse
with Carlo Cecilio and Riz

The day started out well because we were working with friends, namely Jesy Alto and Steve Pagsanjan. So the mood was jolly and light and even Cherry seemed well rested. Her mum, on the other hand, was a bit stressed. She kept on worrying about the littlest details. Good thing Steve brought along his bag of antics which eventually put her at ease. :)

I haven’t shot with Carlo in a long time so it was a blast working, or should i dare say playing, with him again. We took the couple to the secret garden where we witnessed how fast Cherry can run.. hehe. She thought the guard dogs were running towards her, so in the blink of an eye, she was like 5 feet from where she was standing. :D

Mark & Cheryl

Mariott Hotel, Epiphany Church and Legion of Honor, San Francisco
with John Mateos Ong

This was my second US wedding. Fun fun fun! :D I’m used to doing portraits of the groom so I already had an idea of how things would go and look like.. but after that, sir Jong said that I also needed to do portraits of the groomsmen.. Ok, had to think fast. Good thing the groomsmen were as crazy as moi. hehe.. notice that I have more pictures of them than the groom! LoL! :D and for some reason, I always end up being one of the boys.. I think they forgot I was there to work cause they kept on offering me all sorts of alcohol while we were in the limo on the way to church.. haha!

Funny story. So the bride (and her bridesmaids) and the groom (and his groomsmen) had separate limos going to the church right? But then, even after the wedding, the groom wanted to ride with his groomsmen! You should have seen his face when sir Jong told Mark that he should ride with Cheryl. haha!

Mike & Ivy

Lady of the Cathedral of Angels, Los Angeles
with John Mateos Ong

This was my first ever out of the country shoot! Whoopdeedoo!! :D I had so much fun shooting their wedding, even though I had several “nosebleed” attacks. LoL! Like, how do you say de kwatro in english?! :D
Mike and Ivy are such beautiful couple.. both inside and out! :D we met them day before the wedding and they took really good care of us. We had lunch with Mike at King Taco (yum!) then we helped him pick out shades for their honeymoon.. heehee.
Killer church though.. Walang sinabi Manila Cathedral! You can’t use flash plus you were only allowed to take pictures from designated spots.. so hello long lens and high ISO.
During the ceremony, the priest said he was amazed to learn that Mike and Ivy had different home addresses.. at first I thought “ok.. so?” then I realized that we were in a country where couples usually live together before they get married.. then I got his point.. LoL!
